The International Typographic Style, also known as the Swiss Style, is a graphic design style that has roots in Russia, the Netherlands, and 1920s Germany. During the 1950s, Swiss designers further developed the style to make it what it is today.
The style is desirable for typical graphic design purposes because of its cleanliness, readability and objectivity. These words are the key points that describe the style. It's a highly grid-based design, using clean and readable typefaces such as Helvetica and Univers.
